About the game

Tiger's Eye is a 2003 Microgaming slot set in a dense tropical jungle. Symbols include a golden tiger (scatter), a tiger's eye gemstone (wild), a peacock, a golden owl, animal footprints and dense foliage. The production is characteristic of the era — hand-drawn-style artwork rather than the CGI symbols of modern releases.

Three or more golden tiger scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger 10 free spins. The distinguishing mechanic is the escalating multiplier: spin one is played at 1×, spin two at 2×, through to spin ten at 10×. The multiplier increases by exactly 1× each spin, regardless of whether a win occurred. The final spins of the round are worth ten times their base-game equivalent.

The scatter can appear during free spins, but the round does not retrigger — additional scatters pay their cash scatter value but do not add spins. The last few spins of the round are the most valuable; players watching the round progress will see multiplier numbers climbing in real time.

The escalating multiplier design

Tiger's Eye's 1×-to-10× climbing multiplier is mechanically clean and creates genuine anticipation during free spins. Later Microgaming titles (Jurassic World, for instance) used a similar escalating structure. The approach rewards patience — a high-symbol combination on spin 10 (10× multiplier) produces ten times the win of the same combination on spin 1. The downside is that early spins in the round have limited upside regardless of what lands.
