Break Away Deluxe is a 2019 ice hockey slot from Stormcraft Studios, a Microgaming/Games Global exclusive label. It expands on the original Break Away (5×3, 243 ways) with a taller 5×5 grid and selectable paylines replacing the fixed-ways structure. Players choose from 18, 38, 68 or 88 active paylines per spin.

Rolling Reels are the primary base-game mechanic: winning symbol clusters explode and new symbols drop from above, potentially creating chain cascades in a single spin. Smashing Wilds adds a random event where a hockey player animation strikes reel 2, 3 or 4 and converts the entire column to a Wild for that spin. Stacked Wild symbols also appear and can grow vertically across a reel.

Free spins trigger on three or more scatter symbols and award 12 spins. The multiplier trail is the key amplifier — each Rolling Reels cascade within free spins advances the multiplier: 2× on the first cascade, 3× on the second, then 4×, 5× and 8× on the fifth or beyond. The trail resets to 2× at the start of each new spin but can climb the full sequence within a single spin's cascade chain. Long cascade chains during free spins drive the 3,200× maximum win.
